On 22 January 2025, on the occasion of the Inauguration Ceremony of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, the Honorary Doctorate (PhD honoris causa) in Public Administration Sciences was conferred upon the Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic.
The award was granted in recognition of his constant commitment to the protection of constitutional values. Following the presentation of the academic insignia, President Mattarella delivered his Lectio Doctoralis entitled “The Administration of the European Union”.
On 24 July 2023, the Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration Sciences was conferred upon Paola Severino.
A former Minister of Justice in the Monti Government (2011–2013), Professor Severino currently serves as President of the Scuola Nazionale dell’Amministrazione (SNA) and of the Luiss School of Law.
She is Professor Emerita of Criminal Law at Luiss Guido Carli University, where she also served as Rector from 2016 to 2018.
